About
The Centre for Sustainable Development and ESG transformation MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MCUR) is a structural subdivision of MGIMO MFA of Russia, created to carry out research, expert-analytical and educational activities in the field of sustainable development. MGIMO initiated the creation of the MCUR on the basis of inter-faculty cooperation.
The Centre is financed from budgetary, extra budgetary and earmarked funds of MGIMO.
OUR MISSION
Development of national operating standards and ESG professional standards.
Carrying out research in the field of sustainable development in various sectors of the economy of the Russian Federation, international trends and cooperation in the field of sustainable development.
Implementation of expert activities in the fields of the Centre’s activities in order to develop recommendations aimed at improving the effectiveness, competitiveness and sustainable development of economic sectors, individual enterprises and organizations, regions and cities of the Russian Federation.
Organization of an independent ESG rating of Russian companies and an annual report.
Promotion of international cooperation of MGIMO including third-parties on sustainable development and other issues of mutual interest and falling within the subject field of the centre.
Organization of the annual open international conference on ESG issues.
Training of specialists in the field of sustainable development. Development of master’s educational programs and the inclusion of ESG disciplines in the educational process.

Master's program “Sustainable Development Management”
The program aims to prepare specialists to assess the risks of sustainable development on the issues of the modern ESG agenda and find adequate solutions at various levels of management: corporate, regional and state.

The eighth issue of the MCUR Digest “Current Events and Sustainable Development Trends” has been published.
The Digest of the MGIMO Center for Sustainable Development and ESG transformation MGIMO is a constant informational source that accumulates the main world and Russian news on the global sustainable development agenda in various sectors of the economy and state regulation of ESG processes.
